The Canadian Olympic Committee announced the final group of snowboarders who will represent Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics during a ceremony in Quebec City on Tuesday.

Slopestyle athletes Mark McMorris, Sebastien Toutant and Spencer O’Brien were named to the team earlier this month along with snowboard cross athletes Maelle Ricker and Chris Robanske.

Representatives of the Canadian Olympic Committee, Canada Snowboard and the Government of Canada presented each athlete with an official Canadian Olympic Team sweater.

Caroline Calve, alpine snowboarding, will compete in her second career Olympic Games in Sochi.

“Going to Sochi is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and one that I am honoured to have been chosen for,” said Calvé.

“I have been working on perfecting my game for such a long time now and am excited to be competing against the world’s best. It will be an honour to be representing Canada at the Olympics.”

Joining Calve on the talented roster is 19-year-old Maxence Parrot of Bromont, Que., who will compete in slopestyle.

“Today is such a special day for me. To be named a Canadian Olympic snowboarder and being made part of the Canadian Olympic Team is one of the proudest moments of my career,” said Parrot.

“I can’t wait to hit the snow in Sochi and show the world what Canada is made of.”
