Ian Millar of Perth, Ont., was named to the Canadian equestrian team headed to London, marking his 11th Olympic Games selection. Millar is tied with Austrian sailor Hubert Rausdaschl with nine actual appearances and, at London, will ride into the history books as the first Olympic athlete to compete in 10 Games.
"It's a great thrill to be doing this for the 10th time," Millar said. "When you start off with these things ... I never had a grand plan.
"It was just the journey -- it's all about the journey -- because the destination is at best very uncertain. Over the 44 years, a lot of horse partners and people partners involved and the experience and education that has come from that has been totally invaluable."
