Ottawa's Ben Delaney will be making his Paralympic debut at the Sochi Games as the youngest player on the national sledge hockey team.

Ben Delaney, 17, enjoyed plenty of success in his first season with Canada’s national team in 2013. He helped Canada to gold at the World Sledge Hockey Challenge in Toronto and the Four Nations Tournament in Sochi. In 2012-13, Delaney was part of the national development team.

Delaney, a former stand-up player, had his left leg amputated below the knee after being diagnosed with bone cancer at the age of 12.

He was born and lives in Ottawa.
