Youth Olympic Games: Moa Lundgren skies to 1st gold medal
Cross-country skiing cross free makes Olympic debut
Swedish skier Moa Lundgren has won the first gold medal of the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
Lundgren took the ladies cross-country skiing cross free Olympic title Saturday in Lillehammer, Norway.
The 17-year-old won the competition in three minutes, 26.35 seconds.
"It was the best moment of my life," Lundgren said in describing how she felt during the medal ceremony. "I saw my mom and my little sister over there waving. I think they are really proud of me."

The event is making its debut in Norway.
Fellow Swede Johanna Hagstroem earned the silver in 3:28.09, with France's Laura Chamiot Maitral coming in third at 3:29.56.
