Kelsey Serwa was the only Canadian with a top-three finish at a World Cup ski cross event in Pyeongchang on Saturday, finishing with silver.

Andrea Limbacher of Austria won the event, and Sweden's Anna Holmlund took third spot. Canada's Marielle Thompson finished just off the podium, taking a fourth-place result.

Serwa said after the race that she was happy to be back on the podium, her second time this season.

"I wanted to finish the season strong and I'm really happy with today's race. I raced smart and had fun," Serwa said. "It's been helpful to race here and help me build confidence for the next time we're back in 2018."

On the men's side, Kevin Drury was the top Canadian finisher, earning a career-best fourth-place result in the first World Cup final for the Torontonian.

"It was a rough first heat with some good tangle ups but luckily I got through," Drury said. "Through the rest of the rounds, I went with my game plan and it worked out for me."

Canada's other participants failed to reach the final, as Louis-Pierre Helie finished eighth, Chris Del Bosco finished 15th and Brady Leman placed 18th.
