Team Canada's Olympic hockey jersey leaked?
Blackhawks captain seen posing in Canadian colours for photo shoot
A leaked photo of Jonathan Toews wearing what is supposedly Team Canada's sweater for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics is causing a stir among hockey fans.
Toews, 25, is seen posing in a red jersey and holding a hockey stick during an apparent photo shoot.
Hockey Canada has yet to announce a date for the official unveiling of the team's uniform.
But keen-eyed observers claim the leaked photo is legit because the jersey's details — the placement of the Nike logo and customized collar trim made to look like laces — are identical to those used used by the sports apparel giant in designing the Olympic jerseys of the Russian and U.S. teams.
The cutline credits the photo to Melinda Pilon of Getty Images, with several media outlets reporting that it has been pulled from the agency's website.
Toews, who helped Canada win the gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Games, is the captain of the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks and a virtual lock to be named to Canada's 2014 Olympic squad.
