Canada's Marielle Thompson is extending her lead on top of the World Cup overall standings after picking up her second skicross victory of the season.

Thompson, from Whistler, B.C., finished first Friday at the FIS Audi World Cup in Val Thorens, France.

Overall men's leader Dave Duncan of London, Ont., won bronze in the men's race while Calgary's Brady Leman was fourth and Montreal resident Chris Del Bosco was fifth.

Thompson has already qualified for the Sochi Games while Duncan, Leman and Kelsey Serwa of Kelowna, B.C., are considered virtual locks to be named to the nomination roster.

Several skicross athletes remain on the bubble for inclusion on the 26-athlete freestyle roster.

The Canadian freestyle team for Sochi will be unveiled Monday.
