Tora Berger had a five-point lead over Makarainen before Sunday's 12.5-kilometre race on the Holmenkollen course. Berger finished four points behind in the overall standings with a 14th-place finish in the final competition of the 33-year-old Norwegian's career.

Teja Gregorin of Slovenia was second in the race and Marie Dorin Habert from France finished third. Rosanna Crawford of Canmore, Alta., was the top Canadian in eighth.

"It's been a long season and now almost three months in Europe so I'm very happy to end the season on a positive note," Crawford said. "A new personal best is now a great place to set my goals for next season."

Zina Kocher of Red Deer, Alta., was 21st. There are no Canadians entered in the men's 30K mass start race that is scheduled for later Sunday.
