Overall leader Shi Tingmao, of China, was near perfect with a total of 392.25 points. Abel, of Montreal, had 378.20 points to secure second place ahead of China's other finalist Wang Han.

The 24-year-old Abel is 10 points behind Tingmao in the overall rankings.

She ended the day with her second silver of the weekend in the mixed 3m synchro alongside teammate Francois Imbeau-Dulac.

Abel and Pamela Ware just missed the podium in the 3m synchro event on Thursday.

In other Canadian results, Roseline Filion and Meaghan Benfeito scored a silver medal in the women's 10m synchro platform on Thursday. After a turbulent day of competition, Benfeito followed that medal up with a second-place finish in the mixed 10m synchro event with Vincent Riendeau on Friday.
