October 31, 1942 - Maurice Richard begins his 18 season career with the Montreal Canadiens
November 8, 1942 - Richard scores his 1st NHL goal against Rangers in a 10-2 Canadiens win.
March 18, 1945 - Richard becomes the first NHL player to score 50 goals in 50 games.
March 17, 1955 - Richard is suspended for the playoffs for hitting a linesman. The following day, frustrated fans riot outside the Montreal Forum.
October 19, 1957 - Richard becomes the first NHL player to score 500 career goals.
September 15, 1960 - Richard announces his retirement.
1961 - Richard is elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame
