Chris Simon, who just returned to the NHL last week after serving a 30-game suspension, has been dealt by the New York Islanders to the Minnesota Wild for a sixth-round pick.

SImon has 305 points (144-161) in 772 NHL games.

He has played in two games since his suspension was served. Simon, 36, was also banned for 25 games after cross-checking Ryan Hollweg of the New York Rangers in a game last March.

Nooo! Simon will now be goonerizing the Northwest division again... Calgary should have kept him a few years back, if only so they could ensure he wouldn't injure their own players...

this guy should not be allowed to play in the league! how many more cheap shots will it take! figures that the wild would need to cheapen up their lineup...what bouguard (not sure how to spell) isn't goon enough for them!

Are the Wild looking for that player who can give them that edge in Penalty minutes? or are they looking for the player they can tell to go out and hurt someone and basically get away scott free? Simon should be out of the legue and be put up on charges for the stuff he has done. Simon is nothing but a liability.

That's rich, a canucks fan saying someone should be banned from the league. How about Ohlund's tomahawk chop on Koivu this year that only got him 4 game suspension, that was just as bad as anything Simon has done.

Hey nucks fan, you're just upset because now Ohlund won't be able to take free two handed swings at the Wild players without paying for it! As a Wild fan, I am not happy that this is the only move they made though. I would not be surprised if they again are eliminated in the first round or even miss the playoffs.

Nice deal Wild, I guess Lemaire realized that even with Boogard, the Canucks and Flames are tougher top to bottom than Minny. Well tough for y'all, because they still are. It's about team toughness throughout the lineup, not about goons that play four minutes a game and can't score.

I think Chris Simon is a great fit with the Wild. Heavy weight team now!
