Hockey Night in Canada's Scott Morrison breaks down all the major trades made on NHL trade deadline day.
Sharks make a move for Guerin
Tuesday, February 27, 2007 | 01:05 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues traded veteran forward Bill Guerin to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a first-round draft pick in 2007, forward Ville Nieminen and prospect Jay Barriball.
Sharks were in need of a boost and Guerin definitely gives them an added dimension offensively. Combined with the addition of Craig Rivet a few days ago, they have made themselves better front and back.
The cost is pretty much in keeping with what the going rate has been for these to-level rentals.

Good trade for San Jose, Way better than the Tkatchuk deal was for Atlanta. San Jose got a better play at a lower price. Also the Flames will ride Mclennan all to way to the cup

Great move by the Sharks. Adding a proven goals scorer with added leadership to an already potent offense should benefit them.
