The Dallas Stars have waived goaltender Alex Auld, a strong indication that Marty Turco won't be moved before next week's trade deadline.

The move disclosed Wednesday leaves the Stars with two goalies: Turco, in the last season of his contract, and Kari Lehtonen.

The acquisition of Lehtonen from Atlanta earlier this month had created speculation that Turco might be traded, but Turco was 4-1-1 with a 1.15 goals-against average and a .967 save percentage in his last six games before the break for the Vancouver Olympics.

In 43 games overall, he has a 2.63 GAA and a .915 save percentage.

Auld had a 3.00 GAA and .894 save percentage in 21 games.
