Toronto goalie Jonas Gustavsson will have a second heart procedure done after an elevated heart rate forced him out of the Maple Leafs' victory over Montreal on Tuesday.

The team said in a release that the Swedish rookie met Wednesday with medical specialists, who determined that a second heart ablation procedure was needed to correct abnormal heart rhythms.

The 25-year-old had the first heart ablation procedure done on Sept. 15 during Toronto's training camp after a similar incident.

It means that the Leafs might be forced to go with third-string goalie Joey MacDonald for the next few games as Vesa Toskala is still day-to-day with a groin injury.

Gustavsson is 6-5-5 this season with a .900 save percentage and 3.14 goals-against average.
