Peter Puck likes to rocket around the ice, just like The Rocket.
Maurice 'Rocket' Richard of the Montreal Canadiens was one of the most exciting hockey players of the 1940s and 1950s.
In a 1944 playoff game, he scored all five goals in a 5-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. They named him the first, second and third star!
In the 1944-45 season, he scored an unheard of 50 goals in 50 games. He was the first player to score 500 goals in a career, finishing with 544.
He lifted the Stanley Cup with Montreal eight times.
The NHL honours the Rocket by giving the top goal scorer each season the Rocket Richard Trophy.
