Centre Andrew Ebbett will join his third NHL club in a month, after he was claimed Saturday by the Minnesota Wild.

Ebbett, 26, was waived the previous day by the Chicago Blackhawks, who acquired him last month in a similar fashion from Anaheim.

The five-foot-nine Ebbett had just one goal in 10 games for Chicago, who have a surplus of young forwards as well as salary cap pressures.

The Vernon, B.C., native had eight goals and 24 assists in 48 games with the Ducks last season, his first regular action in the NHL.

Ebbett went undrafted after being a leading point getter at the University of Michigan, which iced teams that included current NHLers Andrew Cogliano (Edmonton), Jack Johnson (Los Angeles), T.J. Hensick (Colorado) and David Moss (Calgary).

Ebbett totalled 143 points in 167 regular season games at Michigan.

He earns just under $450,000 US this season.
