Free-agent defenceman Andy Delmore signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Delmore, 32, spent the past two seasons with the Hamburg Freezers of the German Elite League (DEL).

The LaSalle, Ont., native has played in parts of seven NHL seasons, posting 43 goals and 58 assists for 101 points with 105 penalty minutes in 283 games with the Philadelphia Flyers, Nashville Predators, Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets.

With Hamburg, he had 19 goals and 66 points with 160 penalty minutes in 103 DEL games.
