Kings re-sign Johnson to 2-year deal

The Los Angeles Kings re-signed Jack Johnson to a two-year deal on Friday.

The restricted free agent missed 41 games last season due to a shoulder injury, but still hit a career high in points, with 11 (six goals, five assists), and was tied for the team lead in goal scoring for defencemen.

Terms weren't released by the club.

The six-foot-one 225-pound Johnson also participated in the 2009 world hockey championships as a member of Team USA after the NHL season ended. He led all defenceman with five goals for the tournament.

He, along with teammates Dustin Brown, Jonathan Quick, and Rob Scuderi, will attend Team USA's orientation camp for the 2010 Olympics, to be held in mid-August.

Johnson, 22, was selected by Carolina third overall in the 2005 draft, then traded to L.A. in September 2006.
