Capitals' Gordon negotiates modest raise

Restricted free-agent forward Boyd Gordon re-signed Monday with the Washington Capitals for $761,000 US.

Gordon, 25, earned $650,000 US last season, when he finished with five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 63 games.

Gordon, from Unity, Sask., has totalled 20 goals and 66 points in 267 games since he was drafted 17th overall by Washington in 2002.
