Eriksson scored six times in three games during the week of Dec. 15-21. He kicked off his week scoring both goals, including the overtime winner, in a 2-1 game over Phoenix. The Swede notched his first hat trick in a 6-5 win over Columbus and then got Dallas a point when he scored a late third period goal against Ottawa on Saturday, sending the game into overtime.
Jeff Carter of the Philadelphia Flyers and Patrik Elias are nearly as hot as Eriksson, earning the NHL's second and third stars for the week.
Carter now leads the NHL with 25 goals after a week that saw him score four and add three assists in four games. He had two goals and two assists in Philadelphia's 7-1 rout over Washington.
Elias is working on a 10-game point streak and helped New Jersey gain five of a possible six points last week. The Czech Republic forward has eight goals and nine assists during the span.
