Olli Jokinen (12) is pursued by Michael Peca on Wednesday. (Paul Vernon/Associated Press)Phoenix Coyotes forward Olli Jokinen is expected to miss two to four weeks because of a shoulder injury.
Jokinen, 29, suffered the injury when he was checked hard into the boards by defenceman Marc Methot in Wednesday's 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Jokinen favoured his left shoulder as he headed to the dressing room.
Coyotes head coach Wayne Gretzky told reporters Thursday that Jokinen will likely be sidelined "for two to four weeks," halting his streak at 397 consecutive games played.
Jokinen has notched seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 21 games with the Coyotes, who acquired him from the Florida Panthers for Keith Ballard, Nick Boynton and a second-round draft pick on June 20.
Jokinen has totalled 215 goals and 479 points in 744 NHL games since he was drafted third overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 1997.
He also played for the New York Islanders in 1999-2000.
Phoenix activated forward Daniel Winnik from injured reserve to replace him on the roster.
