Mike Zigomanis managed just three points in 33 games with Phoenix last season. (Rick Scuteri/Reuters)The Pittsburgh Penguins picked up forward Mike Zigomanis from the Phoenix Coyotes for future considerations on Thursday.
Zigomanis, 27, went unclaimed on waivers last week and was demoted to the AHL's San Antonio Rampage.
The North York, Ont., native posted two goals and one assist for three points in 33 games with the Coyotes last season.
He scored 14 goals for Phoenix in 2006-07.
Zigomanis has 19 goals and 33 points in 167 NHL games since he was drafted in the second round (64th overall) in 1999 by the Buffalo Sabres, who did not sign him to a contract.
Zigomanis re-entered the draft two years later, when he was selected 46th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes.
He also has played for the St. Louis Blues.
