Citing unnamed sources, the Spectator reported Tuesday that the former head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers, Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs will be behind Canada's bench for the 2008-09 world junior championships in Ottawa.
The Hamilton native has twice been head coach of Canada's Olympic team.
In 2002, Quinn and Team Canada won Olympic gold for the first time in 50 years and, in 2006, the team finished off the podium.
Quinn also coached Canada to victory in the World Cup of Hockey just before the NHL lockout.
He also led Canada's Under-18 team to a world title last season in Kazan, Russia, winning 8-0 over the host team in the gold-medal game.
