Ray Emery is expected to get the start in net on Saturday night when the Ottawa Senators visit the Toronto Maple Leafs (CBC, 6:30 p.m. ET).

Emery was censured for the second time in less than a month for his lax practice habits this week. The goaltender took a good first step toward making amends by donating his $14,500 fine to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

Stellar play might have mollified recent concerns over his personal issues, but Emery has lost in his last four appearances and hasn't played since Jan. 22.

With Martin Gerber mired in one of his frequent inconsistent patches, however, Emery is expected to face Toronto for the first time this season.

"It's been a while since I got a chance to play against a division team," Emery told reporters on Friday. "I think if it's a big game against a high-calibre team, whatever the situation is, I think it's a bit easier to stay focused."

Gerber allowed three goals early in a 4-1 loss to Boston on Thursday. Antoine Vermette scored Ottawa's lone tally, on the power play midway through the third period.

The Senators have lost four of their last six games and will be without Dany Heatley, Daniel Alfredsson and Patrick Eaves on Saturday owing to injuries.

Still, Ottawa (32-16-4) holds a five-point lead in the Eastern Conference over Montreal, and their problems pale in comparison to those of the Maple Leafs.

Toronto (20-24-5) has lost three consecutive games, gaining a point in a contentious 3-2 overtime road loss to Carolina on Thursday.

The Maple Leafs lost a video review of an apparent Jason Blake goal in the third period and Nik Antropov incurred a debatable penalty in overtime that led to the winning goal.

Antropov threw his stick toward the officials at the end of the game and will be suspended three games, pending a possible appeal. It was a costly move given that Toronto is already without key forwards Alex Steen, Alex Ponikarovsky and Boyd Devereaux because of injuries.

Toronto's best hitter, Chad Kilger, has taken a personal leave and is questionable for Saturday's game.

Mats Sundin had a goal and an assist against the Hurricanes, setting up rookie Jiri Tlusty's goal.

Ottawa has won three of four against the Leafs this season, with Toronto's Vesa Toskala earning a shutout in a 3-0 decision in the last meeting, on Nov. 17.

Both clubs return to action on Tuesday. Toronto host Florida, while Ottawa is in Montreal to battle the Canadiens.
