Canada skated to a 4-2 win over Finland on Sunday in the team's final exhibition game before the start of the world junior hockey championship tournament.

Shawn Matthias scored a pair of goals for Canada, while goalie Steve Mason made 32 saves in the tuneup contest before a crowd of 2,500 spectators in Chrudin, Czech Republic.

Drew Doughty and Brad Marchand also scored for Canada, which won all three of its exhibition games.

Niko Aaltonen and Ville Lajunen scored for Finland.

Canada begins defence of its world junior hockey gold medal on Wednesday when it takes on the host Czech Republic in its opening game of the 2008 tournament.

The world junior tournament is a showcase for a country's players ages 19 and under, and the majority of players on each team are 19.

The Canadian roster has 10 players 18 or under, including 17-year-old forwards John Tavares of the Oshawa Generals and Steve Stamkos of the Sarnia Sting. Four of the seven defencemen are 18.

Two goaltenders, seven defencemen and 13 forwards were selected to the Canadian team that will try to win a fourth consecutive gold medal at this competition.

Of the 22 players, 16 were members of the Canadian team that went 7-0-1 against Russia in the summer's Super Series.
