Spezza is pulling in $5 million this season, the final year on his current contract. He was scheduled to be a restricted free agent at the end of this season.
The 24-year-old centre has a goal and 12 assists in 10 games so far this season as the Senators have roared out to a 10-1-0 record.
It's the third big contract handed out by the Senators since the start of the 2007-08 NHL season.
On Oct. 4, the Stanley Cup runners-up signed winger Dany Heatley to a $45-million, six-year extension. In September, Ottawa locked up centre Mike Fisher to a five-year extension worth $21 million.
Spezza's deal also ensures that one of the NHL's top lines will stay together for at least four more seasons. Team captain Daniel Alfredsson is signed through 2011-12, Heatley is extended through 2013-14, while Spezza is signed through 2014-15.
"This is a good situation for Jason," his agent, Rick Curran, said Friday. "This is where he wants to be and that's always the best deal for a player."
