J.S. Aubin resurfaces with Kings

Last Updated: Tuesday, August 28, 2007 | 7:28 PM ET

The Los Angeles Kings signed veteran goaltender Jean-Sebastien Aubin to a one-year, $525,000 US contract on Tuesday.

Aubin, 30, spent last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, posting a 3-5-2 record with a 3.34 goals-against average and .876 save percentage in 20 games.

The Montreal native is 75-77-11 lifetime with a 2.91 GAA in 199 games over eight NHL seasons since being drafted in the third round (76th overall) by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1995.

He joined the Maple Leafs as a free agent on Aug. 18, 2005.

Aubin primarily served as Andrew Raycroft's backup last season, but was not re-signed because Toronto traded for Vesa Toskala on June 22.

Toskala was acquired, along with forward Mark Bell, from the San Jose Sharks for first-, second- and fourth-round draft picks and promptly signed a two-year pact worth $8 million US.

Toskala will open the season as Toronto's starter, with Raycroft in reserve.
