Ducks' Pronger out 2 weeks with broken toe

Anaheim Ducks all-star defenceman Chris Pronger will sit out the next two weeks with a broken bone in his toe.

The 32-year-old blue-liner from Dryden, Ont., suffered the injury on Sunday night during a post-game workout, the team said Wednesday.

In his first season with Anaheim, Pronger leads the Ducks with a plus-26 rating and is fourth in team scoring this season with 53 points (11 goals, 42 assists) in 58 games.

Pronger, who joined the Ducks in an off-season trade from Edmonton, also ranks second in ice time with an average of 27 minutes and 13 seconds.

Pronger also missed nine games in January with a broken left foot.
