Leclaire, 24, is sidelined indefinitely with a hamstring injury suffered in last Friday's 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

He stopped all 10 shots he faced before departing for the dressing room in the second period.

The Repentigny, Que., native is 6-12-2 with a 2.97 goals-against average, a .900 save percentage and one shutout in 21 games.

Carter had one goal and one assist in Friday's victory over Vancouver, giving him seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 35 games since signing a one-year, $2.5-million US contract with Columbus on Sept. 13.

The 32-year-old native of Toronto has totalled 198 goals and 213 points in 645 games over 10 NHL seasons for the Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Canucks and Blue Jackets.

To replace Leclaire and Carter on the roster, Columbus recalled both goaltender Ty Conklin and forward Joakim Lindstrom from the AHL Syracuse Crunch.
