Vancouver Canucks defenceman Sami Salo is expected to miss a week of action because of a knee injury.

Salo suffered a mild sprain of his left knee during the Canucks' 5-2 loss Thursday night at Minnesota, the team said Friday.

Salo, 32, has three goals and 10 points with a plus-five rating in 13 games this season.

For his career, the native of Turku, Finland, has 48 goals and 168 points over eight seasons with the Canucks and the Ottawa Senators.
