The Flyers will recall three players from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, to take their place.

"We decided we wanted to recall three players from the Phantoms. In order to do that, we had to place some players on waivers [Wednesday]," assistant general manager Paul Holmgren said on the team's website.

Holmgren said the Flyers will recall defenceman Alexandre Picard, right-winger Stefan Ruzicka and left-winger Ben Eager. They will join the team on Thursday.

Dimitrakos and Nedved will be assigned to the Phantoms and Baumgartner will remain with the Flyers if all three clear waivers.

The 34-year-old Nedved, acquired by the Flyers in January in a trade with the Phoenix Coyotes, has no points in six games this season.

Baumgartner has one assist and 21 penalty minutes in six games, while Dimitrakos, acquired from the San Jose Sharks at the trade deadline last season for a third-round draft pick, has no points in two games.
