Both the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks are heading into Game 5 of their Western Conference final on Wednesday night with key players missing from their lineups.

Detroit will remain without captain Nicklas Lidstrom and centre Pavel Datsyuk. Both players missed Game 5. Lidstrom had an undisclosed injury and Datsyuk has missed the last two games of the series with an injured foot. Kris Draper was already ruled out of the lineup with a groin strain.

Meanwhile, the Blackhawks will miss the services of leading scorer Martin Havlat and starting goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin for Wednesday's contest.

Havlat returned briefly in Game 4 but left early on. He was hurt on a hit by Wings defenceman Niklas Kronwall in Game 3.

Khabibulin also left Game 3 with a lower body injury.

Cristobal Huet is expected to start his second straight game in goal for Chicago.
