Head coach Dan Bylsma said Sykora will take part in the pre-game warm-up, and then a decision will be made on whether he'll play in his first game of the series against the Detroit Red Wings.
Up 3-2 in the series, the Wings have a chance to clinch the Cup on Tuesday.
Sykora, a 25-goal scorer during the regular season, was benched after his goal-scoring drought from the regular season continued into the playoffs. He contributed only one assist in six playoff games.
The right-winger hasn't played since May 4, though Bylsma says he's been considering adding him to the lineup "every game from the time he hasn't played until now."
"Petr's exceptional skill is that he can shoot it in the net," Bylsma said. "That's why he continues to play in this league and why he'll probably continue to play in this league.
"When you get 25 goals a year, you have something. When he gets the puck on his stick he puts it behind the goalie. In a limited role situation, if he were to get the puck on his stick, you would expect him to rip it and have a chance for it to go in. So that's why he would be appealing."
If Sykora's in for the Penguins, Miroslav Satan would likely come out of the lineup.
Detroit's head coach Mike Babcock says he's not expecting any changes for the Red Wings' lineup that crushed the Penguins 5-0 in Game 5 on Saturday in Detroit.
"The guys were had questions about all skated and felt good," Babcock said.
