Tyler Seguin is the top-ranked North American skater heading into this year's NHL draft, according to NHL Central Scouting.

The Plymouth Whalers forward was placed ahead of Taylor Hall of the Windsor Spitfires in the final rankings released Wednesday.

Hall had been No. 1 in the January mid-term rankings.

There was more movement in the top five.

Forward Brett Connolly of the Prince George Cougars jumped up to third and was followed by Kingston Frontenacs defenceman Erik Gudbranson and Spitfires defenceman Cam Fowler, who dropped from No. 3 in the mid-term rankings.

The draft will be held June 25-26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
