Patrick Roy, the NHL's winningest goaltender, was arrested Sunday morning on investigation of domestic violence charges.

Officers went to Roy's Colorado residence after a "911 hangup call."

According to police, Roy and his wife had an argument at the residence.

Authorities confirmed there had been damage done to the home, but would not comment on whether there were injuries.

Roy was taken to jail, where he was also held on criminal mischief charges. He was later released on $750 bail.

The Avalanche acknowledged an "incident involving Patrick Roy" but declined to comment until the end of the police investigation.

A hearing is scheduled for Monday morning

Last week, Roy won his 448th regular-season game, eclipsing the mark set by Terry Sawchuk.
