The St. Louis Blues weren't able to hold on to the rights to Marek Svatos, with the Nashville Predators claiming the forward off waivers on Wednesday.
Svatos, 28, is trying to return to the NHL after a brief turn with Avangard Omsk in Russia's KHL.
Svatos scored 96 goals and added 68 assists in 316 career NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche between 2003 and 2010.
The Blues signed the Slovakian right wing to a one-year, two-way contract on Tuesday.
Because Svatos has played games in Europe this season, other NHL teams were able to put in a claim for his services within 24 hours.
