Alex Ovechkin appears ready to return to the Washington Capitals lineup.
Barring any other problems, the Russian sniper will rejoin the Caps on the ice when they visit New York to play the Rangers on Tuesday.
"As of today, he is [in the lineup]," coach Bruce Boudreau told reporters Monday.
It's great news for Washington, not-so-great for opponents, since the Capitals have still won four of the six games Ovechkin has missed.
Washington leads the Southeast Division by seven points, and sits second in the Eastern Conference behind New Jersey.
The two-time reigning league MVP suffered an upper-body injury during a game against Columbus on Nov. 1 and hasn't been in the lineup since.
Despite the layoff, he still leads the Caps in scoring and is tied for sixth in the NHL with 14 goals and nine assists.
