Hockey Night in Canada’s OurGame.ca Rules
These Rules serve as the official policy of use for members of the Hockey Night in Canada’s OurGame.ca (“OurGame”).Anyone using OurGame is required to follow the Rules in addition to agreeing with CBC’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.The Rules apply to all content posted by members including photos, video, emails, discussions, comments, blogs and any other member-generated content on OurGame.
Mandate: OurGame is all about your life in minor hockey.CBC wants to give you the opportunity to share your experiences with people from every part of the country who are dedicating their time, dollars and energy to the game of hockey.OurGame is about trading ideas and exploring new options.It is about sharing photos and videos.It is about celebrating this great game that helps define who we are as Canadians.
Moderation: All interactive activities on OurGame are moderated by CBC programmers. Moderation by the CBC ensures that the Rules are followed.We also reserve the right to edit content.Members in violation of the Rules will be subject to removal from OurGame and de-activation of their account or other actions.Moderation response actions taken by CBC will be at its sole discretion. Although we moderate content, you are still solely responsible for what you post.
Eligibility: You must be at least 14 years of age to use OurGame and become a member.You must also either participate in or be a supporter of minor hockey!To become a member you must register. To create a group an administrator is required who is either 18 years of age or older or has a parent or guardian as a co-administrator.
Be polite and respectful: Everyone has different points of view and OurGame is a great place for people to express them.Please respect others and do not engage in rude behaviour.
Be within the law – If someone is doing something illegal (for example something that is threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, sexist, racist, harassing, bullying, profane, indecent or encouraging conduct that would constitute a crime) it will not be tolerated.
Be on topic and concise: Make sure that you are contributing in a positive way to OurGame through meaningful discussions.Do not go on and on (ranting and rambling); try to make your point clearly.
Post original thoughts: Everything you post to OurGame needs to be in your own words.Do not steal other people’s words or ideas.Also, it is important to understand that once you post any content (“Submission”) onto the OurGame homepage or any other part of OurGame accessible to everyone, CBC will be granted a licence to use it in a variety of ways so think carefully and read the terms surrounding Submissions before you post.When you post something onto your profile, if your profile is private, the Submission rules will not apply unless you grant us special permission.
Do not push an agenda: While we encourage people to express their views, this is not the place for people to push religious, political or commercial agendas and we will do our best to ensure this does not happen.Activities such as campaigning, solicitation, advertising, promotion or recruiting may not be undertaken.
CBC Sponsors: CBC may, however, have certain sponsors contributing to OurGame and if you are interested in becoming a CBC sponsor or approved advertiser please contact Chris Demers at chris.demers@cbc.ca.There may be cases where CBC Sponsors will provide information independently to Members but this will only occur when Members select an “opt-in” option provided.
Report Abuse: We have a special process to follow if you notice someone is not following the Rules or doing something of concern.Please contact us through our Report Abuse mechanism.
By using OurGame, you agree to comply with these Rules, as they may be updated from time to time.
