Jeremy Slotkin has a nagging suspicion that he's skating into his nightmare. In spite of his improved shot, quicker feet, more confidence and the praise of the coach, all of the negativity and fears that took root in last year's tryout are slowly seeping back into his consciousness.

They had been told in a pre-season meeting that cheering is fine, but embarrassing the oppositon was not accepted. They had obviously taken the advice to heart.

She has to find Mats' Agenda, get him into warm clothes, change her own clothes, make sure Manny has a ride to his evening practice and then get Michael to the arena. All in 15 minutes.

The coach controls where you play, how much ice you get and ultimately your enjoyment of the game. The other parents grumble and whine, but they accept the conditions. Not Laura. Not Jakob.
