The Dallas Stars lost not only their game against the Oilers on Thursday night, but also forward Jamie Benn after he was ejected late in the third period for an incident with Edmonton's Ryan Jones.
Benn cross-checked Jones from behind with just four minutes to play in the
Stars' 5-1 loss, leaving the Oilers forward sprawled out on the ice, taking him a while to get back on his feet as he was in visible pain.
A little while earlier, Jones had gotten tangled up with Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen in the netminder's crease. Benn left the bench and delivered the blindside cross-check not long after.
He received a major penalty and a game misconduct for the infraction.
