Zdeno Chara did his best Patrick Chan impersonation on Sunday in showing off his skating ability to score a stellar goal against the Florida Panthers.
The six-foot-nine, 255-pound Boston Bruins defenceman floated into the Panthers' zone in the first period when teammate Brad Marchand sent a backhand pass over to him just above the slot.
Chara, 35, used a "spin-o-rama" move that would've made the late Hockey Night in Canada legend Danny Gallivan proud to elude a Florida defender. He then went in to rip a backhand shot past Panthers goalie Jacob Markstrom on the short side.
Chara's goal would even make former New York Rangers defenceman Marek Malik jealous (remember his
miraculous shootout goal from 2006?).
