Maple Leafs' 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers that garnered most of the attention.
The Maple Leafs' starting goaltender was helped off the ice with an injury to his left leg at 16:00 of the second period with Toronto up 3-1. The team called it a lower-body injury and the netminder did not return to the game.
Toronto head coach Randy Carlyle, though, shed some optimism during his post-game presser and said he doesn't expect Reimer to miss an extended period of time.
The injury occurred when Reimer was down in the crease, stretched out for a save attempt and appeared to hurt his leg in the process. The 24-year-old was down for several minutes before being helped up.
Reimer is no stranger to injuries. He missed 24 games with concussion-like symptoms after Montreal captain Brian Gionta knocked his mask off in a game on Dec. 3, 2011
Ben Scrivens made his way into the game, and the Leafs scored just over two minutes later as Clarke MacArthur one-timed a beautiful feed from Nazem Kadri to give Toronto a 4-1 advantage at the time.
Scrivens, 26, stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced.
Reimer was 5-3-0 with a 2.30 goals-against average and .929 save percentage heading into Monday night. The Manitoba native is coming off a 37-save shutout against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday evening.
