With the NHL officially cancelling games through Nov. 30, plus the Winter Classic, CBCSports.ca has been helping give fans a voice.
Until the NHL returns, we will continue to highlight one fan's take on the lockout each day from the posts we've received on Facebook, Twitter and the comments sections on CBCSports.ca.
Thursday's comment of the day comes from a fan who believes the NHL will never learn its lesson when it comes to labour peace.
makeboy: "Even if they do come to an agreement, it will be to just put hockey back on the ice for a couple of years and at the end of the CBA, players, fans and the owners will be going through this again at the end of the next CBA. I say stay out for a couple of years get everything settled and then go back to playing....don't worry about the cash for every person that says they're done with NHL hockey will be back with bells on in one form or another. Or...the game of hockey will never recover what its losing as I type this. There may not be a cash pie to argue over...this is a hockey crazy country so I'm inclined to believe in the short term when they do come back people may punish them but in the long term it will come back as strong as ever. I personally used to be a big hockey fan but with all these lockouts I really don't care anymore. I haven't spent a dime on merchandise or forked out major coin to see a game in years."
