In today's comment of the day, one fan makes an astute point about the KHL and European players that have been losing their roster spots to NHLers heading overseas. He also reveals what he's starting to realize about Canada in the absence of hockey.
With the NHL lockout now in double-digit days, CBCSports.ca wants to help give fans a voice.
So
until the game we love returns, we'll highlight one fan's take on the
lockout each day from the posts we've received on Facebook, Twitter and
the comments sections on CBCSports.ca.
Here's Friday's Fan Comment of the Day from CBCSports.ca user Gavin Fox:
"Since a lot of these turncoat players won't be picketing or being vocal about ending the lockout, and instead running to Europe and taking jobs from the hockey players there, could the NHL hire those European players that are being displaced to play here until the lockout is over? We Canadians don't really care whether it is the sissy millionaires playing the game that we watch, or some grittier players, we just want to drink beer on Saturday and watch hockey.
What the heck else are we supposed to do during the winter? Hockey is the one thing that makes us not question why in the heck our ancestors settled a place that is frozen half the year."Want to share your opinion? Tweet me
