The Winnipeg Jets have signed goaltender Al Montoya, the club announced Wednesday.
Montoya, 27, played in 31 games with the New York Islanders last season, posting a 9-11-5 record with a 3.11 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage.
In 57 career NHL games with the Islanders and Phoenix, the Chicago native has a 21-17-10 career record, with a 2.76 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
Montoya was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the first round, sixth overall, in the 2004 NHL Draft.
