Buffalo also recalled Brayden McNabb from Buffalo's AHL affiliate in Rochester and sent defencemen Rasmus Ristolainen and Johan Larsson down.

Centre Mikhail Grigorenko has been loaned to the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the latest move in the former first round draft pick's tumultuous career.

Ristolainen and Grigorenko both recently returned from the World Junior Hockey Championships in Malmo, Sweden. Ristolainen scored the winning goal in overtime for Finland in the Final.

Murray was hired Thursday as the seventh general manager in franchise history. Buffalo next plays Sunday evening in Washington.
