Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Thompson will forfeit $9,729.72.
Thompson had two goals and an assist as the Tampa Bay Lightning snapped a five-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory over the struggling New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.
