Ponikarovsky Returned Friday for the Devils.

Ponikarovsky was dealing with an undisclosed injury.

The New Jersey Devils have acquired Ponikarovsky from the Winnipeg Jets for two draft picks.

Ponikarovsky is viewed, among other things, as insurance for the first-place Devils. New Jersey forward Dainius Zubrus could be out up to two months with a wrist injury. Zubrus will have exploratory surgery on Thursday.

Ponikarovsky came through for the only goal in Winnipeg's 1-0 win against Ottawa on Saturday.
