Michael Frolik's dangerous hit on Nate Thompson
Winnipeg forward called for boarding on Lightning winger
Michael Frolik is hoping any lingering elation he feels from being named to the Czech Olympic roster isn't replaced by feelings of frustration after an incident Tuesday night.
The Winnipeg Jets forward is looking to avoid an unwanted phone call from NHL discipline head Brendan Shanahan, after he was called for boarding Tampa Bay Lightning winger Nate Thompson during the third period of the Jets' 4-2 loss.
Frolik caught Thompson with a hit from behind, while Thompson's head smacked into the boards at an awkward angle.
Thompson was forced to leave the game while Frolik got a two-minute minor penalty.
Watch the above play to see how it unfolded. Should Frolik face any discipline for this hit? Why or why not?
