Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri received a match penalty for a hit to the head on Minnesota Wild forward Mikael Granlund on Wednesday.

Kadri caught Granlund's head along the boards near the Toronto blue-line midway through the third period. Granlund remained in the game and Kadri was ejected.

The hit will be looked at by the league's Department of Player Safety as match penalties require an automatic review to see if supplementary discipline is warranted.

It was Kadri's second questionable hit of the game. In the first, he ran over Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom in the crease. Backstrom left the game and Kadri was assessed a goalie interference penalty.
